Albert Kahn has historical structuresthroughout Michigan including the Battle Creek Post Office, the FisherBuilding, the Dearborn Inn and the General Motors building, to name a few.Tucked away on Belle Isle is another gem, the Belle Isle Aquarium. Opening in1904 it was the oldest continually operating public aquarium in the UnitedStates. The building boasts an impressive conservatory and water garden,complete with koi pond. It is a side of Detroit not commonly anticipated yetclearly shows the depth of this great American city.
